The Lake Blue Streaks suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 83-51 loss at the hands of Louisville. While losing is never fun, Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while Louisville is ranked seventh).
Louisville was led to victory by Beau Siegfried and Hayden Nigro. Siegfried dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 assists, while Nigro scored 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Nigro is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Gross, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Louisville, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Lake will be playing at home against Jackson at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Lake likes a good challenge. As for Louisville, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Edward is on a six-game streak of home wins, Louisville a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
