Basketball Recap: Savannah Athletic Association Sets Scoring Season-High Against Trinity Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Savannah Athletic Association). They walked away with a 72-61 victory over Trinity Christian on Thursday.

Defeat or not, Trinity Christian got some senior leadership from Isaac Sherrod and Nathan Suchovsky. Sherrod dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards, while Suchovsky posted 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 37.7% of Trinity Christian's points, marking the third time in a row Sherrod has put up more than a third of the team's points. Isaac Cleveland was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Savannah Athletic Association has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Trinity Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Savannah Athletic Association has already played their next contest (against The Habersham School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Trinity Christian, they will head out to face off against Augusta E at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
