The Annandale Cardinals had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Becker 85-57 on the road. Annandale's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Groskreutz, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Weiss, who scored 12 points.
Annandale's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Becker, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Annandale will take on Big Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Becker, they will be playing at home against Hancock at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
