The Duchesne Eagles will face off against the Grand County Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Duchesne's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Grand County has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Duchesne proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out South Sevier 13-11.
The team relied heavily on Prezley Farnsworth, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Breklyn Skewes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Duchesne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 17-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Grand County was able to grind out a solid victory over Hunter on Saturday, taking the game 6-1.
Danika Hirschfeld was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Duchesne's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Grand County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-11.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Duchesne hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .442. However, it's not like Grand County struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Duchesne was able to grind out a solid win over Grand County when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 7-3. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
