The Poly Engineers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Dunbar at home to the tune of 80-10. Poly has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 24 points or more this season.
Poly's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mickelle Lowry, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lowry has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Arianna Makumi, who scored eight points.
Poly pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Dunbar, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Poly will head out on the road to face off against Digital Harbor at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Digital Harbor comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Dunbar, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech and Dunbar are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
