Basketball Recap: Unity Reed Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Patriot, Unity Reed was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 71-59 victory over the Osbourn Park Yellowjackets. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Unity Reed's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charles Pargo led the charge by going 13 for 23 on his way to 35 points and seven rebounds. Pargo's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ralph Oshokoya, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards.

Unity Reed smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Unity Reed's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Osbourn Park, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.

Unity Reed wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-66 defeat against Stafford on the 25th. As for Osbourn Park, they are taking a road trip to take on Patriot at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Patriot's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Osbourn Park has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
