After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harlingen South, the Pace Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They escaped with a win against Porter by the margin of a single free throw, 25-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pace also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Pace's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Risa Trevino, who scored eight points. Andie Lozano-lomeli was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Pace's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-23. As for Porter, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pace will square off against Lopez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Porter, they will head out on the road to square off against Harlingen South at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Porter in Texas (Harlingen South is ranked 537th, while Porter is ranked 1431st).
