Baseball Recap: Port Allen's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Port Allen won the last time they faced Madison Prep Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pelicans blew past Madison Prep Academy 20-10. Considering the Pelicans have won 18 matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hunter Bodin was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Chapman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Bodin wasn't the only one making solid contact: Port Allen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Port Allen, bringing their record up to 19-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Madison Prep Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-20.

Coming up, Port Allen will square off against Slaughter Community Charter at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Madison Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
