Union Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Anson Bearcats with a sharp 16-1 win. Fans of the Cardinals have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Avery Wilson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
