The Belfry Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paintsville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Paintsville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Belfry, who comes in off a win.
Even though Berea scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Belfry still came out on top. Belfry snuck past Berea with a 62-58 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Belfry.
Belfry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Daniels led the charge by scoring 20 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zade Rash, who scored 16 points along with 6 steals.
Meanwhile, Paintsville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Shelby Valley by a score of 47-45.
Their wins bumped Belfry to 2-0 and Berea to 2-2.
Belfry and Paintsville were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but Belfry came up empty-handed after a 50-49 defeat.
