The Hancock Panthers had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 65-55 victory over Bishop Walsh on Friday. The win was just what Hancock needed coming off of a 66-34 loss in their prior match.
Hancock had a senior duo take command as Jordyn King dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds and Ethan Nichols almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that King pulled down eight or more rebounds. Aiden McCarty was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hancock's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Bishop Walsh, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
Hancock will be playing at home against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hyndman Charter School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 743rd in Pennsylvania, while the Panthers are ranked 291st in Maryland). As for Bishop Walsh, they will head out on the road to take on the Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
