Saucon Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pen Argyl recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will welcome the Green Knights at 4:00 p.m. Saucon Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Saucon Valley nor Palmerton made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Panthers never let the Blue Bombers get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Not much got past Noah Hubert, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Palmerton off the board.
On the hitting side, Saucon Valley's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landon Huber, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pen Argyl fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Catasauqua on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rough Riders by a score of 4-3. The Green Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cayden Vishnesky put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Pen Argyl's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Saucon Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Pen Argyl's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Saucon Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Pen Argyl, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Saucon Valley's hitters?
Saucon Valley got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Pen Argyl by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
