had team highs in hits (37), RBIs (24) and batting average (.407), but
earned the spotlight in the circle with 292 strikeouts in 177 innings
and a 19-3 record. Her ERA was 0.43. She has signed with Texas Western
University.
P - Kirtlin Bohling, Salem Hills (Salem, Utah), Senior The state's two-time Gatorade State Player of the Year, the 5-foot-9 right-handed senior posted a 22-7 record along with a 0.97 ERA this past season, leading the Skyhawks (24-8-2) to a second-straight Class 4A state title. Bohling struck out 312 batters and walked just 37 in 216 innings. She pitched 10 shutouts and one no-hitter. She was named Class 4A MVP by both the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune.
P - Megan Hensley, Ashland Blazer (Ashland, Ky.), JuniorKentucky's Gatorade State Player of the Year struck out 369 batters in 200.2 innings and posted a 0.63 ERA with a 28-4 record. The Louisville commit also batted .561 with nine home runs, 44 RBIs and a .981 slugging percentage.
P - Caitlin Perry, Alabama Christian Academy (Montgomery, Ala.), JuniorIn winning 33 games and striking out 351, Perry was honored the All-Montgomery Region Softball Team Player of the Year for the second-straight season. She pitched 18 shutouts and her ERA was 0.64.
P - Alexandra Grys, Portland (Mich.), Senior Grys was dominant with a 21-4 record, 14 shutouts, 275 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.69. She also batted .414 and drove in 30 runs for the Raiders. She will play for Lansing Community College.
P - Megan Cook, Bellingham (Mass.), SeniorIn leading Bellingham to the state D-2 title, Cook was 20-1, had a 0.54 ERA and struck out 243 in 141 innings. She also batted .400 and averaged better than an RBI per game. She has signed with Merrimac College.
P - Brooke Stulga, Manteno (Ill.), SeniorThe Daily Journal's Player of the Year struck out 300 batters and compiled 36 wins and a 1.29 ERA to go along with a .522 batting average, 28 extra-base hits and 44 RBIs. She has signed with Western Illinois.
P - Jamie Wren, La Serna (Whittier, Calif.), JuniorWren led her team to the CIFSS Division 3 final and was chosen as the Whittier Daily News Player of the Year. She went 25-3 in the circle with a 0.55 ERA, including 15 shutouts. At the plate, Wren hit .463 to lead the team and was among the team leaders in hits with 44 and in RBIs with 27.
P - Sarah Finck, East Peoria (Ill.), SeniorFinck guided East Peoria to an undefeated Mid-Illini Conference season and its first Class 3A Elite Eight appearance. In 197 innings, she went 25-2 with 235 strikeouts and a 0.75 ERA. Finck hit .465 (59-for-127) with 12 doubles, 11 home runs, 36 RBIs and 21 stolen bases. She has signed with Illinois State.
P - Jessi Haffner, Bishop Carroll (Wichita, Kan.), Senior

Haffner finished her career 4-0 in Class 5A title games, throwing a two-hit shutout to beat Maize South in the championship. The Oklahoma State signee and three-time All-Metro selection was 13-0 with three earned runs allowed, a 0.37 ERA and 70 strikeouts. She also hit .616 with 13 singles, 20 doubles, 10 homers, 49 RBIs, 39 runs with a 1.356 slugging percentage.
P - Caitlyn Brooks, Burbank (Calif.), JuniorIt was another sterling season for Brooks: 21 wins, 258 strikeouts in 160 innings and a 1.18 ERA. She also hit .513 and knocked in 42 runs as the Bulldogs finished 24-4.
C - Ashley Godfrey, Estrella Foothills (Goodyear, Ariz.), SeniorGodfrey, who has signed with BYU, concluded four years as a varsity standout with a .562 batting average, 45 hits and 38 RBIs. She also stole 19 bases.
C - Taylor White, Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.), SeniorThe All-L.A. Daily News pick batted .720, stole 37 bases and committed just one error. White, who is headed to Ohio State, finished with 54 hits, 34 runs, 17 RBIs, 14 doubles and nine homers.
C - Taylor Santistevan, Aztec (N.M.), JuniorSantistevan is one of the main reasons Aztec reached the state 4A final, as she drove in 61 runs, had 15 doubles and knocked 14 home runs. She did not commit an error in 33 games.
IF - Kaylea Schorr, Kasson-Mantorville (Kasson, Minn.), SeniorSchorr batted .517 with 24 RBIs and stole 18 bases as Kasson-Mantorville swept the 2014 season.
IF - Brittany Finney, Bishop Carroll (Wichita, Kan.), SeniorFinney homered twice in the 5A title game as Carroll won its fourth-straight and finished 25-0. She had a .547 batting average with a 1.12 slugging percentage. She had eight doubles, 11 homers, 45 RBIs and 36 runs scored. In the circle, Finney was 12-0 with a 0.47 ERA and struck out 87 while giving up one walk and 16 hits. She has committed to Oklahoma.
IF - Meredith Burroughs, C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, N.C.), SeniorAlthough she walked 43 times, Burroughs still managed 25 hits (.541 batting average) and 31 RBIs as Aycock reached the state final. She scored 40 runs and homered nine times. Her OPS was 2.417. She has signed with North Carolina State.
IF - Halle Hayes, Winslow (Ariz.), SeniorHayes batted .571, scored 47 runs and was a first team all-state pick for a fourth time.
IF - Briana Angel, La Grange (Texas), JuniorSister of Alyssa, Briana batted .458, scored 55 times, drove in 39, belted 22 doubles and whacked seven homers as La Grange won the state 3A title.
IF - Ashley Swiderski, Barron Collier (Naples, Fla.), SeniorSwiderski was named the Naples Daily News Softball Player of the Year after hitting .444 with eight doubles, 10 triples, five homers and 37 RBIs. She will attend Florida Gulf Coast University.
IF - Kylee Barrett, Pioneer (Ann Arbor, Mich.), SeniorA three-sport standout, Barrett hit .414 for the Pioneers with 11 home runs, eight doubles, 40 runs scored and 46 RBIs. She hit a walk-off, three-run homer in the regional semifinal against Frankenmuth, and her next at-bat was a first-inning two-run homer in the regional final against Saginaw Swan Valley. Her final at-bat of the season — and her high school career — was a two-run home run in the state semifinal. She will play softball at Wayne State.
IF - Dominique Jackson, Pleasant Valley (Chico, Calif.), JuniorJackson batted .495, drove in 43 runs and belted 13 homers and seven triples. She hit for the homer cycle (a grand slam, three-run blast, two-run homer and solo shot) in a doubleheader victory over rival Chico. She has committed to Fresno State.
IF - Darian Lindsey, Pendleton (Ore.), JuniorNamed the 5A Player of the Year as a junior and freshman, Lindsey led the Bucs to the 5A title. She batted .495, scored 48 runs, drove in 25 and stole 25 bases.
OF - Amanda Springstead, Tanque Verde (Tucson, Ariz.), SeniorThere were big numbers for Springstead: .688 batting average, 48 runs, 58 RBIs, 29 extra-base hits and a 1.135 slugging percentage.
OF - Hunter Hogan, Bishop Carroll (Wichita, Kan.), SeniorHogan has played on four state title teams at Carroll and led the 2014 state 5A champion in scoring 51 runs. She hit .571 with a .943 slugging percentage, hitting nine doubles, five homers and registering 24 RBIs. She has signed with Wichita State.
OF - Amy Persinger, Dallas County (Plantersville, Ala.), SeniorPersinger displayed power and speed with 15 home runs and 39 stolen bases en route to a stellar season. She batted .658, scored 62 runs and had 75 base hits. She has signed with Auburn University at Montgomery.
UT - Darby Bishop, Newton County (Decatur, Miss.), JuniorBishop went 21-0 with a 1.53 ERA and batted .621 with 44 RBIs. She was the state's Gatorade Softball Player of the Year.
UT - Brittany Rheault, West Fargo (N.D.), SeniorThe state's returning Gatorade State Player of the Year, the 5-foot-3 senior right-handed pitcher and outfielder posted a 20-0 record along with a 0.40 ERA to lead the Packers (30-1) to their 17th-straight Class A state title. Rheault struck out 207 batters and walked just 13 in 123 innings pitched, firing two no-hitters, including one perfect game. At the plate, she batted .486 with three home runs, 34 RBIs and a .752 slugging percentage. She has signed with the University of Jamestown.
UT - Kellye Springstead, Tanque Verde (Tucson, Ariz.), JuniorLittle sister of Amanda, Kellye was 18-3 with 219 strikeouts in 122 innings and posted a .063 ERA. She also batted .551, drove in 44 and scored 50 runs.
UT - Brianna Weilbacher, Columbia (Ill.), SeniorWeilbacher went 29-2 with 17 shutouts and struck out 291 in 183 innings. She posted a 0.57 ERA and pitched four no-hitters, but also hit 15 homers and batted .505. She has signed with Iowa State.
UT - Shelby Koehler, West Hancock co-op [Hamilton/Nauvoo-Colusa/Warsaw] (Hamilton, Ill.), SeniorKoehler hit .500 with 12 home runs and collected 56 RBIs, plus was 14-3 with a 1.87 ERA. She has signed with Emporia State.
UT - Kelsey Smith, Empire (Tucson, Ariz.), SeniorSmith hit 14 home runs and drove in 69 RBIs. She batted .495 and was 13-3 with a 1.54 ERA as Empire won 29 of 35 games. She has signed with East Tennessee State.
