Buckeye Central is 9-1 against Upper Sandusky since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Buckeye Central Bucks will head out on the road to face off against the Upper Sandusky Rams at 12:00 p.m. Buckeye Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 434th, while Upper Sandusky is ranked 189th).
Buckeye Central fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Cardington-Lincoln on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 47-45.
Meanwhile, Upper Sandusky had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They managed a 45-41 victory over Wynford.
Buckeye Central's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Upper Sandusky, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Buckeye Central came up short against Upper Sandusky in their previous matchup back in January, falling 40-33. Can Buckeye Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
