Basketball Recap: Gibson Southern Beats Heritage Hills for Their Fourth Straight Win

Gibson Southern had won three straight games and Gabby Spink did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Gibson Southern Titans walked away with a 64-57 victory over the Heritage Hills Patriots thanks in part to Spink, who went 10 of 17 en route to 34 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Lauryn Adamson was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Heritage Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mayci Litherland, who posted 14 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Becher, who went 5 for 6 on her way to 13 points.

Gibson Southern is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Heritage Hills, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.

Gibson Southern will face off against Southridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Gibson Southern's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Heritage Hills, they will take on Boonville at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
