The Platte Valley Broncos's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on Frontier Academy with a sharp 52-31 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Platte Valley also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platte Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Salazar, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Uyemura, who scored eight points along with eight steals.
Frontier Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emily Gesick, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Macee Flores who scored three points along with six rebounds. Gesick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Platte Valley's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14. As for Frontier Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Platte Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brush at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Platte Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Thursday. As for Frontier Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Windsor Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Windsor Charter Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Frontier Academy has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
