Plainfield Central (Plainfield, Ill.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Plainfield East (Plainfield, Ill.), 28-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Jordan Ellingwood in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 14-0 at the half.
Plainfield Central expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. PC scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Ellingwood.
Ellingwood played well for the Wildcats in the victory. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.
Coming into the game Plainfield Central had allowed 19.0 points per game this year.
When the two teams played each other last season, PC came away with a 33-21 victory.
The loss comes after Plainfield East defeated Romeoville 27-14 last week. With the win the Wildcats extended their winning streak to three games.
Plainfield East (2-6) will play a Southwest Prairie game against Plainfield South next week, while Plainfield Central (6-2) will take on Oswego also in a Southwest Prairie game.
