The Bellevue Redmen will be playing at home against the Clyde Fliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clyde took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bellevue, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Bellevue didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Elyria Catholic, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory. Given Bellevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Elyria Catholic is ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Clyde's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 63-55 to Calvert. Clyde has not had much luck with Calvert recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brayden Olson, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Olson is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Price Carter was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Bellevue's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Clyde, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Bellevue beat Clyde 74-65 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Bellevue repeat their success, or does Clyde have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
