Union Area stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Cornell Raiders as the Union Area Scotties made off with an 18-2 victory. Olivia Benedict was incredible, firing off two home runs, three stolen bases, and seven RBI while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Joseph, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
On Cornell's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Wegley, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a double.
Union Area pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cornell, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Union Area will head out on the road to challenge New Castle at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
