The Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons were the 58-49 winner over the St. Charles Fighting Saints when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The game between Wabasha-Kellogg and St. Charles wasn't particularly close, with Wabasha-Kellogg falling 44-29.
Wabasha-Kellogg's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Brielle Adams and Mackenzie Paddock. Adams scored 17 points, while Paddock scored two points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. This was only their 14th loss (out of 17 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Wabasha-Kellogg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for St. Charles, their victory bumped their record up to 2-21.
Wabasha-Kellogg will be playing at home against United South Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Charles, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fillmore Central at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th. St. Charles is coming into the game with ten straight wins on the road, meaning Fillmore Central will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
