The Red River Bulldogs and the Pine Raiders squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Red River Bulldogs had to settle for second. Red River was the victim of a tough 38-16 defeat at the hands of Pine. Red River's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Red River still got an impressive performance from Terrell Gary, who rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown. Gary was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.
Red River bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Pine, Mansfield, and Many. As for Pine, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Red River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pine will head out on the road to face off against Avoyelles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Avoyelles will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
