Middleton has gone 9-1 against Ridgevue recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Middleton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Borah on Thursday as they made off with a 14-4 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Middleton got a massive performance out of Cam Lenius, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Lenius has posted over his last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Holman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Middleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Ridgevue not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2025 (when they won 9-1). They blew past Meridian 9-1. With that win, the Warhawks brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Hunter Schmittel looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ridgevue is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Hirasaki, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Ridgevue: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jet Ayala, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Middleton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgevue, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Middleton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ridgevue struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Middleton came out on top in a nail-biter against Ridgevue in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
