Basketball Recap: Isaac Yowell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tri-State Christian

Morning Star Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over the Tri-State Christian Huskies. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Morning Star Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Yowell out in front who went 7 for 15 on his way to 21 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Yowell a new career-high in points. Joshua Brady was another key player, putting up six points in addition to nine steals and six boards.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-State Christian lost, don't look at Sam Fernandes. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Smith, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Morning Star Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tri-State Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Morning Star Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 25-21 victory against East Moline Christian on the 5th. As for Tri-State Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-42 defeat against Unity Christian on the 9th.
