Maple Mountain is 1-9 against Spanish Fork since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will head out to face off against the Dons at 3:30 p.m. Maple Mountain knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Spanish Fork likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Maple Mountain made easy work of Wasatch and carried off a 20-5 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Jensen was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylee Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Maple Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Spanish Fork's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Desert Hills.
Paizley Boman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
Maple Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Spanish Fork's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Maple Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .406. It's a different story for Spanish Fork, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Maple Mountain's hitters?
Maple Mountain skirted past Spanish Fork 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
