Geneva scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 30-29 to the Wheaton North Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Falcons are ranked 45th).

Geneva's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Wheaton North, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Geneva is set to face off against their familiar foe West Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wheaton North will take on rival Naperville North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
