The Mountain View Mavericks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Rocky Mountain, falling 66-22. While losing is never fun, Mountain View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Rocky Mountain is ranked 13th).
Despite the loss, Mountain View saw an underclassman step up: Quincy Keller scored eight points. Keller scored a full 36.4% of Mountain View's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Rocky Mountain, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Owyhee at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rocky Mountain will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thunder Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th.
