It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Southridge Spartans had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They managed a 73-68 victory over the Lions. The victory was nothing new for Southridge as they're now sitting on three straight.
O'cien Valdes was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 4 assists. Rey Daniels was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Southridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Mater Academy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
Southridge will face off against Southwest at TBD on Saturday. One thing working in Southridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. Mater Academy Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
