The North Harrison Cougars will face off against the Providence Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. North Harrison will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
North Harrison proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Perry Central 4-3.

Kendall Christie made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bryn Myrick was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Kendal Maher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Providence was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christian Academy. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Presley Hegedus (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Presley Flowers (2028) was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Laslie (2027), who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
North Harrison pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Harrison has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Providence struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
North Harrison beat Providence 6-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
