The Christian Academy is 0-7 against Bristol since May of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Christian Academy will head out to square off against Bristol at 3:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
The Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Collegium Charter as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The Christian Academy not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2024 (when they won 22-12).

Avery Burghart made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tori Townsend was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. Maeve Gibbons also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Bristol made sure to put some runs up on the board against Delaware County Christian on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Aubrey McIlvaine looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Amirah Bell was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. Brianna Slack was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delaware County Christian only posted an OBP of .417.
Bristol's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.3 runs this season. As for The Christian Academy, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. The Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bristol struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
The Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Bristol when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can The Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
