The Tipton Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Kokomo Wildkats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Tipton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 103-6 loss at the hands of Hamilton Heights. While losing is never fun, Tipton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Hamilton Heights is ranked 12th).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Kokomo beat Triton Central 47-43 on Thursday.
Among those leading the charge was Ma'Kaela Drake, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Aijia Elliott was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Tipton's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-19. As for Kokomo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Tipton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Kokomo when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 41-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tipton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
