The Carlisle Thundering Herd entered their tilt with the State College Little Lions with four consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with five. Carlisle enjoyed a cozy  63-46 victory over State College on Friday. Given Carlisle's advantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 26th, while State College is ranked 178th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 When it comes to explaining why State College lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Charlie Yartz. Despite the final result, he  scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aidan Angus, who  scored nine points.
 Carlisle pushed their record up to 14-3 with that  win, which was their seventh straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for State College, they have  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will  face off against Altoona at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for State College, they won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against Williamsport at 7:30  p.m.  on January 27th. Williamsport is coming into the  game on a three-game losing streak.
