Baseball Recap: Coastal Mississippi Homeschool Comes Up Short

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool lost against Meridian HomeSchool on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Coastal Mississippi Homeschool fell just short of Meridian HomeSchool by a score of 5-4. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sam Murphy and Fisher Page stepped up to the plate in a big way. Murphy scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Page scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Coastal Mississippi Homeschool is 6-2 when Murphy posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Clay Martin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Meridian HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coastal Mississippi Homeschool will challenge Ben's Ford Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Meridian HomeSchool, they will square off against Hattiesburg HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
