The Middletown Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Upper Lake Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Middletown earned a 3-1 win over St. Helena. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won three in a row.
Middletown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.

Middletown's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jordyn Harbison, who had 16 digs, and Harley Holley, who had 11 kills, seven digs, five blocks, and five aces. That's the most digs Harbison has posted over her last six matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Maccario, who had 11 digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Middletown was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Upper Lake made easy work of Lower Lake on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-17.
Upper Lake now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Middletown, their record now sits at 8-22.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Middletown has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Upper Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Middletown came out on top in a nail-biter against Upper Lake in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
