Eastern Alamance took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Williams a 16-0 shutout.

Carley Boggs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Delani Straughan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayden Manning, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Eastern Alamance always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Western Alamance and Southern Alamance, and Western Alamance kept the tradition alive. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Patriots on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Western Alamance got a massive performance out of Bayleigh Burris, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Justice, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Eastern Alamance has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Western Alamance, they pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both Eastern Alamance and Western Alamance just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Western Alamance struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastern Alamance skirted past Western Alamance 6-4 in their previous matchup on April 8th. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
