The Rifle Bears had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 victory over Delta on Tuesday. That 16 points margin sets a new team best for Rifle this season.
It was another big night for Logan Gross, who scored 25 points. Sterling Cook was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tucker Johnson, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Erik Baier, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Rifle's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Delta, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Rifle will head out on the road to take on Coal Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coal Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Delta, they will be playing at home against Aspen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aspen will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
