It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the True North Classical Academy Titans had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed by Westminster Christian at home to the tune of 48-16. Considering True North Classical Academy has won seven contests by more than 27 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
True North Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zachary "Zac" Katz, who threw for 357 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Katz has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Bueno Jr., who rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarvis Johnson, who rushed for 172 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Jason Barket Jr was another key contributor, throwing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
The win (which was True North Classical Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 9-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.67 points. As for Westminster Christian, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
True North Classical Academy will stay at home for another week and welcome Archbishop Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. Archbishop Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully True North Classical Academy likes a good challenge. Westminster Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
