Basketball Recap: Fremont Skates Past Lakeland with Ease

Fremont was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lakeland on Thursday. The Fremont Eagles breezed by the Lakeland Lakers to the tune of 68-35. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Defeat or not, Lakeland got some senior leadership from Briana Poe and Cara Schackow. Poe posted nine points, while Schackow earned four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those nine points gave Poe a new career-high.

Fremont is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Lakeland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Fremont will take on Prairie Heights at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Lakeland, they will face off against Churubusco at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeland is facing Churubusco at the right time seeing as Churubusco is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
