It was a good run, but the Orange County Fighting Hornets unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Charlottesville, falling 73-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Orange County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Orange County still got an impressive performance from Chloe Hebert, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Laney Fayard was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Orange County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Charlottesville, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Orange County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Madison County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Orange County is ranked 109th). As for Charlottesville, they will be playing at home against Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
