Western Alamance's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Newton, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Newton hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Hamilton Plunkett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Southern Alamance lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Moore, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Tyler Moore, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Western Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Southern Alamance, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Alamance will take on Orange at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Orange's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Southern Alamance, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Williams at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Williams is ranked 261st, while Southern Alamance is ranked 250th).
