The Stockbridge Tigers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-0 win over Woodland on the road. The result was nothing new for Stockbridge, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Jayden "duke" Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Scott is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last eight games he's played. Mike Simms was another major influence, as he rushed for 83 yards and ran in a TD.
Stockbridge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Jared Anthony and Kam Reese who racked up five sacks between them.
Stockbridge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Woodland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockbridge will take on Pace Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodland, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. Mt. Zion comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
