The Concordia Cardinals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Holy Trinity Catholic by a score of 57-54. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (36), Concordia still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Concordia still got an impressive performance from Alexander Jones, who threw for 333 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Jones is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last nine games he's played. Daniel Wolfmueller was another key contributor, gaining 169 total yards and three touchdowns.
Concordia has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Holy Trinity Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Concordia will head out on the road to face off against Live Oak Classical at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Live Oak Classical's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Holy Trinity Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Faith Academy at 7:30 p.m.
