The Timber Creek Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Byron Nelson Bobcat at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Byron Nelson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Timber Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Southlake Carroll 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since February 15th.
Cheyenne Wardell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, Brooklyn Wardell was excellent, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn McNutt also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Byron Nelson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Trinity by a score of 7-6.
Meredith Hambric was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Gabriella Cuellar made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Brooklyn Hanson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Timber Creek pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Byron Nelson, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Timber Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Byron Nelson struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Timber Creek took their victory against Byron Nelson in their previous matchup on March 4th by a conclusive 15-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Timber Creek since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
