The Altamonte Christian Eagles can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They breezed by Ocala Christian at home to the tune of 86-42. The win was familiar territory for Altamonte Christian who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Vincent Lee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Ryan Almeda was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Ocala Christian saw an underclassman step up: Amari Gordon scored 18 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gordon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Carillo, who scored ten points.
Ocala Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Altamonte Christian pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Altamonte Christian pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.7 points per game. As for Ocala Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altamonte Christian will take on Bishop Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Moore is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Ocala Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cornerstone Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 62.3 points per game, Cornerstone Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest.
