It was a good run, but The Milton Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 42-23 fall against Walpole. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Milton came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Walpole is ranked 34th).
Walpole can attribute much of their success to Noah Mackenzie, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Having lost for the first time this season, Milton fell to 5-1. As for Walpole, their win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 3-3.
Milton will head out on the road to face off against Taunton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Walpole, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Braintree at 5:45 p.m.
