Gateway hasn't had much luck against St. Cloud recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. St. Cloud took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Gateway, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Gateway got the win against Evans by a conclusive 15-2. Considering the Panthers have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Joel Carmona made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Adrian Just was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Colon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Gateway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, St. Cloud's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Harmony by a score of 7-6.
Aiden Pegauro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Alden Lewis was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Gateway's record now sits at 11-9. As for St. Cloud, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Gateway has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.6 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Cloud struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gateway couldn't quite finish off St. Cloud in their previous matchup on Wednesday and fell 5-3. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
