The Garner Trojans suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 57-18 loss at the hands of Corinth Holders. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Garner has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Garner still got an impressive performance from Olivia Jacobs, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 88.9% of Garner's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Garner struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corinth Holders to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darla Lee, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Lee hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Bella Stromberg, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Garner's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Corinth Holders, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing South Garner the next time they take the court. Corinth Holders will host South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Garner will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
