After soaring to 35 points the game before, The Suffern Mounties were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 35-6 loss at the hands of Carmel. Suffern has struggled against Carmel recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Carmel was led to victory by Christian Nunez and Tristan Cash Werlau. Nunez rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while Cash Werlau rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Cash Werlau was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Ryan Aabel also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Suffern's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Carmel, their win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Suffern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carmel will head out on the road to face off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arlington will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
