If the Kim/Branson Mustangs were riding high off their 56-30 takedown of the Trinidad Miners last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kim/Branson fell 50-41 to Walsh on Friday. Kim/Branson lost against Walsh in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-56 score last time.
Kim/Branson's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kolter Cranson, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Doherty, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Kim/Branson's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Walsh, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kim/Branson will take on Sierra Grande at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Walsh will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
