Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Boone Grove). They blew past the Griffith Panthers 12-3 on Saturday. The Wolves not only won  on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win  since May 22, 2024 (when they won  11-0).
 Amanda Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Olivia Treece, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. What's more,  she posted three  hits, the most she's  had since back in May of 2024.  Chayse Duerr was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Boone Grove  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 3.9  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.
Boone Grove is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Griffith,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boone Grove will take on Morgan Township at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Griffith, they will host Illiana Christian  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1  runs per game  this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
