If the Brook Hill Guard were feeling good off their 66-22 takedown of the Benbrook Bobcats on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brook Hill fell just short of Chireno by a score of 49-47. Brook Hill lost against Chireno in their previous head to head last Monday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-58 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Brook Hill lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Brenna Hill. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with 4 steals. Hill scored a full 42.6% of Brook Hill's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Savannah Onley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Brook Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Chireno, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-2.
Brook Hill is on the road again on Friday and play against Gladewater at 2:45 p.m. on December 1st. Gladewater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 788th, while Brook Hill is ranked 183rd). Chireno will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Broaddus at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
